Jefferson High's Rodeo Club puts on the Quinn Memorial High School Rodeo annually in the fall, where contestants from across the state come to compete. The QMHSR is one of the largest rodeos in the state, and is well known for being great, even if the weather isn't. Members who would like to be in the rodeo club do not have to rodeo. Being a member includes helping with fundraisers, meetings and putting on the rodeo.  The money earned from the fundraisers goes to help with the rodeo expenses and if a cowboy/cowgirl makes it to state, nationals or silver state, then they can apply to receive travel money. Money will only be given to club members who have helped with fundraising and putting on the rodeo. There are 12 events in high school rodeo: team roping, ladies' goat tying, ladies' barrel racing, ladies' pole bending, ladies' breakaway roping, mens' and ladie's cutting, men's steer wrestling, men's calf roping, men's bull riding, mens' saddle bronc riding and mens' bareback riding. Also, there is the queen contest. Rodeo is a great way of life, and once you start, you will be hooked. There are now junior rodeo associations like Little Britches, Wrangler Junior High Division and numerous ones across the country. There is also a Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association, a Women's Professional Rodeo Association, and the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. If you are looking for clinics or information on the National High School Rodeo Association, or the Montana High School Rodeo Association , you can check out their websites.
